Talking of the issues characteristic of her country, the Minister of Women, Family and Human Rights explained that Brazil’s population of 210 million was growing by 1.8% each year; however, forecasts predict that by 2045-2050 the rate of growth will start reducing.

– We have never had as many young people in Brazil as we do now, and we will never have as many again – said the Minister from Brazil. – We are living through a golden age of our youth, and we must make the best of it - emphasised Damares Regina Alves. – It is the first time we have a dedicated ministry for family affairs in Brazil, and, passing on the message of our President, Jair Bolsonaro, I can tell you that today Brazil stands with families.

– Brazil is also characterised by an aging population, and therefore one of the most pressing tasks is caring for the elderly – the Minister added. It’s with these tasks in mind that the Ministry for Women, Family and Human Rights was created. It is also important to support the strengthening of family relations, and here we strive to offer hands-on support, whilst also paying attention to vulnerable families.

– It is not the Government’s intention to meddle in the lives of families. The idea is to help. – emphasised the Minister for Women, Family and Human Rights.
